We Are Determined To Finish Stronger In The Second Stanza – Olanrewaju

The co-captain of Edel Football Awka, Sodiq Olanrewaju, has expressed optimism that the team will finish stronger and beat the drop in this final rounds of matches for the 2024/2025 NNL season.

It was not the best of round for Edel FC in the first stanza but Olanrewaju believes there were lessons learnt in that first round and it will come in handy in the second round.

“For us as footballers, we want to get better. We are not happy about our position on the table. We know we can do better, having gone so close to promotion last season. In this second round, we are determined to right the wrongs of the first stanza and God willing, we will come out stronger.”

The rock solid defender also emphasized the importance of the win against Igbajo FC on Saturday.

“The win was important. We knew we had to start on a winning note in the second round. The boys gave their best and God rewarded our efforts with 3 points. We have to take it one game at a time. We know the task and God will see us through”
