About Edel FC

Edel Football Club came into existence in the 2016/2017 season when Nnewi United was formed under the working Chairmanship of Mr Olisa Onuchukwu with Mr Gabriel Chukwuma (Gabros) as the club President. Godwin Nosike was the Coach.

In the 2017/2018 season, the club made its debut in the second-division league in the country. The club finished a decent 6th out of 12 abridged league season.

In the 2020/2021 season, Mr Jude Edeh bought the club and became the sole financier of the club to date. The club maintained its status in the second division of the Nigerian League. And in 2022, the club won its official trophy when they lifted the state FA Cup. The team finished in 5th position in that given season.
