It Was An Important Win Over Igbajo FC- Ihekwoaba

The Assistant Coach of Edel FC, Kingsley Ihekwoaba, has expressed his satisfaction in winning his first league match as the coach of the team at the third time of asking.

The former NPFL player, popularly known as Papin, discolored it was an important win psychological and for a place on the table as well.

“Personally I am happy for the win, even as a team, we are grateful for the three points against fellow relegation threatened team. It was really important that we begin the second stanza with a win. This will help us psychologically in our fight against relegation.”

Coach Papin emphasized that his boys won’t be carried away by that win as they are aware of the huge task ahead.

“We won’t be carried away at all. In as much as we are grateful for the win and enjoyed it. That match is in the past. Our focus now is on the next match which happens to be against Dakkada FC in Uyo. That’s what we, as a team, are thinking about. We have a long way to go till we are safe. So for now, it is one game at a time.”

Having defeated Igbajo FC 2-1 at the Awka City stadium on Saturday, Edel FC will shift focus to another important match this coming Saturday against Dakkada FC of Uyo.
